To make the printing block, students drew personal symbols. They reproduced the symbol on foam, cut it out and glued it onto a wooden block. They used paint from small bottles that have sponge tips to put paint on the  printing block then carefully placed the block on the fabric- image side down.

Adinkra Cloth ~ 2nd grade

Second grade students are in the process of creating Adinkra cloth. They created  their symbols and cut them out of foam sheets. They glued the symbols on blocks (Thanks to Mr. Monts for cutting all of these!) and then practiced printing with paint. This is just a sampling of their blocks.
